Some venues just stop you in your tracks, and the Oldfield River Club in Okatie, South Carolina is one of those venues. One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer in Savannah, GA, is the quick and easy access to so many beautiful and coastal venues all over the southern states.
The River Club was actually built when access to the club was more likely from the river, so the home opens up to the beautiful and panoramic view of the surrounding marshes and river, behind the property. But the front of the property is the real show stealer – with the beautiful fountains and landscaping, providing a beautiful backdrop for a gorgeous wedding ceremony.
And speaking of amazing venues – it was an amazing couple that chose this gorgeous venue. I can’t speak highly enough of Alice and Pat. Two extremely kind souls, both surrounded by friends and family, that made for a perfect, memorable wedding day. Every detail was planned expertly, and so many amazing pieces came together to make the day just jaw-dropping.
This was a unique wedding for me, as I brought the Leica SL along for the first time. It was fun having a new camera system to utilize, and I think having such an incredible new tool at my disposal definitely helped me capture and create something really special for Alice and Pat. I know they certainly deserved the best.
I hope you enjoy the photos, and feel free to leave Alice and Pat some love in the comments. I particularly loved the black and whites in this session, I think the old southern architecture just lent it self to a more timeless, black and white, look. And a special huge shout out to Danielle at Simply Southern Events. Not only is the Oldfield just the perfect venue, but having Danielle on site, keeping the day on schedule and perfect was priceless. I cannot recommend them enough!
